I've always been fascinated by "The Voice of Space", so it's really special to hear a piece of music based on it. The music gets across the mixture of natural/unnatural, real/unreal, dainty/monstrous and fascinating/overpowering, that I find in the painting; and adds a whole new dimension to the French term "avoir le grelot..."

The arrangement is written for the solo at 4:47 to be played on Fluegel horn. This is a trumpet. Well played though. The Fluegel sounds better.

We played this in 2000 in marching band and won state finals. Search Greenwood Marching Woodmen 2000 State Finals. Was my favorite of all 4 years :) Sorry horn players but I have to be partial to Drumline as I marched snare 4 years :P

I'm in eighth grade (trombone) and we played it. To say it's a challenge is more than an understatement- the time put into it (3 months) was well worth the final product.
